Spiced Sugar Nuts

In a saucepan mix together:
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon allspice

Bring to a boil. Boil 5 minutes.
Add to mixture:
3 cups nuts, toasted
Stir until thoroughly coated. Spread on a greased cookie sheet. Separate nuts and cool. Store in an airtight container. These are wonderful tossed into a green or fruit salad with a raspberry dressing.
