"Glogg" Hot Swedish Punch

In a heavy skillet or pot, over medium heat until bubbly:
1 cup brown sugar
When sugar begins to darken add:
1-1/2 cups water
20 cardamon seeds
20 whole cloves
3 sticks cinnamon
Simmer 1 hour.

Strain. Add and simmer until spicy:
1/2 gallon port wine
1/2 gallon sherry
1 pint brandy
1/2 pound raisins

Serve with bowl blanched almonds to be added to each glass or cup.
