Cranberry Coffee Cake

In a mixing bowl cream:
1/4 pound butter
 
Gradually add and cream well:
1 cup sugar
 
Add and mix well:
2 eggs
1 teaspoon almond extract or vanilla
 
Stir together in a separate bowl:
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Stir in:
1 cup dried cranberries
Pour 1/2 of the batter into a greased 10 inch tube pan, than on top of this batter place a layer of:
1 can cranberry sauce (strained or whole)
 
Cover this layer with the other half of the batter.
Sprinkle the top of the batter with the following mixture.
In a small bowl mix together:
1/2 cup toasted chopped nuts
2 teaspoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Bake 1 hour at 350°. Cool 10 minutes. Invert pan to cool completely.
